Outer Banks Fall Fishing

Outer Banks Fall Fishing

Been on the water everyday through September and October.  Thanks to all the support.  You guys keep it going!  Outer Banks Fishing in the Fall has plenty to offer!  Overall the fall fishing has been pretty good!  The big redfish has been great on the proper weather days.

The albacore have been a blast tossing jigs into these balls of white watering fish!  The light tackle drag screams out and takes skill and patience to land one of these critters!  We landed some sheepshead.  Bigger than average but overall numbers have been down.  Blues and spanish were extremely cooperative.  Trolling and casting put fish in he box!   Trout, well lots of em but no real decent fish to speak about.  Tossing a quarter ounce meathog jig with a soft plastic seems to do the trick!  Next year should get em into the “keeper” bracket.  Sharks were around all shapes sizes and configurations! Congrats to Joe on his late October 55 lb cobia we sight casted to!

Man that is late to find one of those critters surfing on top!!!  Outer Banks fall fishing always points to surf fishing as well.  Talking with clients and gathering the reports from their weeks encounters along the surf sounded promising.  Not a bite one day then bunches of small specks and a few slot sized reds the next day.  Of course we have had the “exotics”!  Blowtoads, seamullet, spot, croaker, and little black drum.  Wreck fishing has been great when the weather permits!  We have had excellent catches of black sea bass, triggerfish, and some tog!   Love to get a list of guys who want to go jigging or fishing on the pretty weather days.  No boats and normally just great fishing.  Feel free to email me a name and number to get on that call list!

Oh course the hot sheet!  The schoolie striper fishing has been way above average!   Guys tossing and trolling light rods are bringing numbers of stripers to the boat.  Plenty of small ones but plenty of fish that surpass the 18″ inch “keeper” mark.  The fishing has not all been morning or evenings but even mid day bites have been occuring with birds picking on em, the whole nine yards.  Guys carolina rigging live eels are getting nice stripers as  well.    So crowds have waned and fishing is still good so if you want to get out there give us a call we have plenty of openings!
